Ohhh, it’s October! I love October. The feel of harvest is in the air, of reaping what you have sown. Of having amazing, wonderful things coming to you! The leaves changing, the weather changing. Love it. My absolute favorite time of year.
My husband and I got married around this time, last year! October 22nd, yep! Love it.
So, I have an appointment with my accupuncturist today, Janelle of Metropolitan Chiropractic in Vienna, VA. I bet I’ve spoken about her before, but, just for the record this is an amazing person, and I couldn’t dream of finding a more perfect accupuncturist for myself.
I am also teaching a class later this month called Advanced New Age Wisdom for Shenendoah University. *beam* This is an advanced version of the class New Age Wisdom that I taught earlier this year. We will be delving into the fun world of crystal grids. I was pondering on how they’re similar to an accupuncture treatment, and figured I would share my findings here, since they’re so interesting!
Oh, and for those of you who are unfamiliar with the term ‘crystal grid’, a crystal grid is a layout of crystals placed on and around the body.
So! Let us begin with chiropracty – a concept most people are already familiar with. This is the guy who realligns your physical bone structure by physically pushing and pulling and tugging and sometimes standing on you. (I kid you not – heard of people walking on your back? Yeah…) The idea is that stress and repetative behaviors and stances (like slouching at a computer typing, for instance, ahem) can over time actually alter the way your body holds itself, knocking it out of whack with its most comfortable and efficient way of being. A chiropractor comes in and adjusts everything for you, back into its more natural state pre-computer-slouching.
Now, on to accupuncture!
An accupuncturist works with the energy body. We have a physical body, and we also have an energy body. You know when you get the chills? Or emotions that make your chest tighten or tummy feel weird? That’s your energy body acting on your physical body. They talk to each other, and in fact couldn’t exist without each other. The energy body is the interweaving that holds the physical body together. Just like a city has an underground system of wires and pipes that keep it running – so do we, only these wires and pipes aren’t physical – they’re more like pathways, channels.
The energy body, made up of energy running through these pathways and channels, responds much faster than the physical body. Basically, it is the blueprint for the function of the physical body, the energy matrix, the underlying structure that holds the whole thing together. If something is out of whack here, you have a bit of time to adjust it before it filters down to the physical body. And if something is out of whack in the physical body, you can know that it will be out of whack in the energy body.
So, adjusting the energy body is basically a more subtle, less invasive way of doing chiropracty. The accupuncturist uses metal needles and submerges them into the physical body, more clearly defining the connection between the physical and the energetic – kind of like putting an anchor in place. Grounded metal attracts energy (think of a lightning rod) better than flesh, and so the energy body’s channels will naturally shift at key points and be held in place there by the needles. When the needles are removed, the energy will stay there for a while, re-wearing its old natural, healthy groove.
It takes several sessions to get the energy body back on track, the re-route the energy into its most healthy formation, and when I first saw my accupuncturist I was going once a week. Now I go once every other week – my body has gotten with the most health program it can.
If an energetic pattern is seriously entrenched, it takes even more intense work – more needles, more frequent visit. There’s even a gold needle they can use that attracts energy like crazy, apparently. My husband had one, in his session, and he was almost on the ceiling with the amount of energy in his energy body that had been rerouted and made available for him to use in a more efficient and healthy manner.
So, on to crystal grid work! This is where we get really subtle.
Crystals are physical bodies that hold energy resonances in a permanent way, themselves. They’re much more rock solid
than a physical body, and they don’t think or consider their reason for existing – they just are, and they broadcast this in a very real way. Here’s a quote, whose original reference I’m not sure I ever even knew, that really sums up what I’m trying to say, here:
“The heartbeat of a crystal is so regular and so reliable that crystals have been used in watches, transistors, computers and many scientific applications. The human body is full of resonating cavities and water, both of which automatically pick up any regular rhythm. As you can’t help tapping your fingers and toes to rhythmic music, so you can’t help your whole body tuning in, on a subtle level, to the rhythm (or frequency) of a crystal. You may not consciously be aware of this happening as it may be under your observable threshold, but it does happen.”
So, in a crystal grid, crystals are laid out on and around a person’s physical body. Their broadcasting penetrates in a subtle way, right through the energy body and beyond, to the core of our very emotions and thoughts which are, as is everything in this universe, energy in their own right. At this level, we are at the level where intent plays a major role.
A crystal grid therapist gets a feel for what the person wants to change – what feelings or thoughts they want to alter or allow in – and creates a grid to serve that purpose. The crystals, as I already mentioned, work on a very subtle level – and at this level, client participation is tantamount. Going with the flow, and actually humming along with that beat that’s making you want to tap your foot will help it gain a sense of permanence in your subtle energy body. In other words, feeling the urge to tap your foot and hum along (as per the quote above) and actually tapping it are two different things. Actively working with the crystal resonance and allowing and desiring your thoughts and emotions to flow in a new way helps the crystals work immeasurably.
I do believe flower essences work on this very same concept. If you’re in a place where you want to feel a certain way but just can’t get there on your own, the help of a crystal or smell or essence can really help you make that leap out of your own box. All you need to do is reach for it, and it’s yours. But, unlike manipulation on a physical level (chiropracty) or an energetic level (accupuncture) this is taking place on a subtle level – the level where it’s all about choice. Open or close. Allow or deny. Dance or sit this one out.
And, as you can imagine, the subtle body effects the energy body which effects the physical body. We really are walking representations of the ideas we have and the truths we hold.
So, if there is a limiting idea, a closed down energetic pattern in the subtle body like, “I’m worthless,” or, “Showing pain will get me attention,” then it will filter down, and down, until the physical body itself manifests dis-ease. Check out Louise Hay’s work, You Can Heal Your Life for more on this idea.
Working with this limiting idea on the subtle level, letting it go where it was first created, will filter down into the physical body.
This is the primary way in which I am fasciliating my own healing experience, myself!
Letting go of limiting ideas and beliefs using EFT, crystal grids, flower essences – you name it! – and then giving my body what it needs (exercise, massage, food, water, etc.) and giving my energy body what it needs (accupunctue, energy work, healing hugs) to eventually effect the changes on the physical level.
I am pretty convinced that this will become a huge cornerstone of the way we go about healing in the coming decades – going to the source.

Hi Dawn. Great info on comparing accupuncture with chiropratic treatments. Thanks.
